Grade Level/Discipline: I am in my 4th year of teaching high school mathematics. I teach grades 9 - 12. Throughout the last four years, I have taught subjects such as Business Mathematics, Algebra 1, Algebra 2, Geometry, and Contemporary Mathematics. All of my classes are diverse with their grade levels and also ability levels. Many of my classes include learning support students, so I have a great deal of experience with differentiation and modifications of lessons. Due to the amount of learning support students that I have in my classes, 5 of my 8 class periods are co-taught with a special education teacher. This has also been a good experience. She and I have learned a lot from one another and have grown as educators over the past 2 years together.
Few Facts about myself:
Fact 1: I wanted to be a mathematics teacher since I was in 3rd grade.
Fact 2: I would love to work for the FBI, because I love to piece together stories and ideas.
Fact 3: I have never flown in an airplane.
Fact 4: I would love to visit Italy someday.
What I'd like to learn or get out of this course:
From this course, I would like to learn more about today's students and different methods of teaching them using today's new technological tools. I would like to get ideas of different lessons that work well with the new technology that is available to us today.
My favorite game(s):
I'm not a big video game person, but any type of game that includes competition is for me! I'm a very competitive person, so any game that you have to compete in, I would enjoy. I would also like to add, that I'm a very good sport if I happen to not win...which doesn't happen often! ; )
